Dr. Bradley T Crye

  • Doc Crye

My first chiropractic experience was in my senior year of undergraduate school at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee. I played basketball and soccer at Martin Methodist so I was very active. I was playing two sports that overlapped each other.

My body was taking a beating. I had finally had it with the constant back pain and knee pains. During this time, I was dating this woman who is now my fiancé and she suggested I go see her chiropractor. I had never been to chiropractor before and I had no idea what to expect. I called the office where she was being treated and I hear the words I hear every day now; “It’s a GREAT day at Thiesing Family Chiropractic Center.” At my first appointment I received a thorough exam and consultation as well as X-rays of my full spine. Next came the adjustment. I was bit nervous but Dr. T was very thorough. He explained everything I needed and wanted to know with great details.

After my adjustment, I left the office thinking what just happened? I felt sore that night and was a bit confused as to why. It felt as if I just had a workout or went for a swim. Then I remembered Dr. T mentioning I may feel sore and that I should ice my back and drink lots of water to help with that. The next morning the soreness had dissipated and I had less back pain. I had an appointment later that week and I was so excited to return to the office. At that next appointment I let Dr. T know my back pain was less and I felt better. The knee pain was getting better every visit and Dr. T mentioned he had a cold laser that he wanted to try on it. I said sure let’s give it try! Dr. T used the laser for the dedicated amount of time and once I stood up from the chair, my knee pain was gone. I asked Dr. T what did you just do? He responded, “the laser helps promote healing”; Along with some other doctor lingo that I did not understand at that point in time. I was a believer from this point on. I was such a shock as well. I had been taking ibuprofen, icing and wearing a brace to deal with this pain and I was only 21 years old. I thought I was too young to be dealing with back pain. I soon found out that everyone, even babies have misalignments in the spine that cause all sorts of ailments!

Fast forwarding a year and a half, I was working long hours and did not enjoy my job at all. My friend from Martin told me he applied to chiropractic school in Florida and that I should apply as well. Now, I was a believer but I did not know if I wanted to be a chiropractor. “Man, I don’t know about that,” I responded. I went home and told my fiancé about it and she suggested I shadow Dr. T. I scheduled a day to shadow Dr. T and I fell in love with chiropractic, but in a new way. I always loved interacting with people and helping them in any way I could. I applied to chiropractic school that week. To break down how fast everything happened, I applied in June, was accepted in July, went to look at housing in August and started classes in September. Now if that was not meant to be then I do not know what is! Palmer College of Chiropractic, which is basically in Daytona Beach, was where I was heading!

Since my first adjustment I have been receiving regular care. Immediately after becoming a regular patient, I noticed I was not having the back pain, knee pain, colds, sinus infections and headaches that I struggled with all my life. I am an example Chiropractic Wellness and I am so thankful. By keeping my spine in alignment my brain can communicate with my body at its highest potential. I noticed my performance on the court and field was increasing as well. My coordination was improving, my physical abilities were increased and more importantly, my overall health was improving. I rarely feel any pain in my back or knees and I cannot remember the last time I was sick. I have to thank my fiancé for pushing me to go shadow him that day. That is the tipping point in my chiropractic career. Because of that moment, my three dogs, my wife and I are enjoying every moment of being back in Tennessee

Being a chiropractor means I need to walk the walk. How could I struggle with back pain and advise my patients to get adjusted regularly? It doesn’t work like that. So, I receive adjustments every week and I will continue to receive adjustments for the rest of my life. My body needs it. Which is why I truly believe that everyone needs it. I have shared chiropractic with my family and friends as well as my patients. Every day I come into the office thinking to myself, who are we creating a chiropractic story for today? Every single person can benefit from a well aligned spine. Getting the brain to communicate better with the body is obtainable.

I invite you, your family and friends to start your chiropractic journey with me. You may realize that chiropractic was the void that needed to be filled so you can take control of your health and enjoy your life.
